Fire protection concept for the “Pop-Up Selfie Museum”

Now Berlin has one ... the first interactive "Pop-Up Selfie Museum" –"The WOW! Gallery", right at the train station, S-Bahnhof Greifsvalderstrasse.

25 interactive installations / sets can be found on an area of over 1000 square meters, from a ball pit, an on-going confetti rain, to a trampoline jump over the Berlin Wall.

In January 2020, film producer Thorsten Künstler addressed a new specialized department at GPDS GmbH with a request for a fire protection concept / proof of fire protection as part of the construction legal process. It took only about 4 weeks to create a fire protection concept / proof of fire protection that can be submitted and approved for the conversion of a former department store as a protected historical monument.

For the specialized planners of GPDS GmbH, this was a challenging but not unsolvable task, as the construction works were already in full swing and significant shortcomings in fire protection came to the fore.

However, in cooperation with the competent authorities, the Berlin Fire Service and the fire protection testing engineer, our specialized planners were able to develop the concept of sustainable fire protection and thus enable the glamorous opening and commissioning planned for the end of February 2020.
